    That "State"ly Horse Race Pie

    List of Ingredients

    Pastry for a 9 inch one-crust pie
    2/3 cups sugar
    1/3 cup butter/margarine, melted
    1 cup corn syrup
    2 tablespoons bourbon
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    3 eggs
    1 cup pecan halves or broken pieces
    1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

    Recipe

    Heat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare pastry. Beat sugar, margarine, corn syrup, bourbon, salt and eggs with hand beater. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Pour into pastry-lined pie plate. Bake till set, 40-50 minutes. Refrigerate till chilled, at least 2 hours. Immediately refrigerate any leftovers. For an added treat: Serve each slice with a dollop of whipped topping and a pecan half that's been coated with chocolate on one end.
