Fried Green Tomatoes

Slice green tomatoes (make sure they're firm) in about 1/4 inch slices and place in lightly salted water while you do the rest of this. Put about 1/3 cup of corn meal and about 1 cup of flour in a medium sized bowl, in a smaller bowl place about 1 cup of plain flour. Then in another medium-sized bowl place about a 1/2 cup of milk and 3 beaten eggs. Mix the egg & milk. Drain the tomatoes on a paper towel and place in plain flour then dunk in milk mixture. Finally, dredge in the cornmeal mixture, shaking to remove excess after each coating. Fry in an electric skillet with enough hot oil to just barely cover the tomatoes.Recipe
Cook till golden. Drain on paper towels. Keep warm inn a slow oven (250-300 degrees) Don't salt till you eat because they wil get mushy.
