Scalloped Cauliflower
List of Ingredients
1 head Cauliflower*
1/2 teaspoon margarine
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 teaspoon fresh black or white pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk or half and half
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup fresh bread crumbs Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Steam cauliflower just until tender; drain.
Melt margarine in a medium size saucepan over medium heat.
In a jar with a lid combine flour,pepper, salt, and milk; shake until blended.
Slowly add to margarine in saucepan, stirring constantly until smooth. Add cheese and continue stirring until smooth and slightly thickened.
Put cauliflower in a 2 quart baking dish; pour sauce over cauliflower, then sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or till bubbling. Serves 4-6 people.
*The cauliflower can be broken into pieces if desired.
