List of Ingredients
- 1 1lb loaf frozen Rhodes bread dough (Other brands don't work as well)
- 48 oz. vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 cup melted margarine
Instructions
- Thaw frozen bread dough in plastic bag in refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 150 degrees. Cut loaf, with serrated knife so dough won't be compressed, into 6 equal pieces. Flatten each into a circle to 3-1/2" inch diameter.
Place on ungreased baking sheet. Cover with plastic wrap. Turn off preheated oven. Place cookie sheet in oven with door propped open for 30 minutes.
- Pour oil into skillet or wok. Oil should be 1-2" deep. Heat to 375 degrees. Combine cinnamon/sugar and set aside.
- Work one piece of dough at a time between fingers, sqeezing out all air bubbles. Stretch into a 10"X 4" ear. Carefully place in oil.
- With tongs, push dough under surface of oil. Fry until lightly brown on both sides, turning once. Place on paper towel to drain, blot top.
- Immediately brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
