    List of Ingredients




    lb ground beef
    1 clove garlic, minced (although I substituted garlic powder)
    1 tablespoon basil
    1-1/2 tsp salt
    1 1-pound can stewed tomatoes (i usually use the italian)
    1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
    6 lasagna noodles
    2 eggs
    3 cups cottage cheese
    1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
    2 tablespoons parsley flakes
    1 lb mozarella cheese, grated

    . Brown meat, spoon off excess fat.

    2. Add next 5 ingredients. Simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    3. Cook noodles, drain and rinse.

    4. Beat eggs; add remaining ingredients EXCEPT the mozarella.

    5. Layer half the noodles in a 13 x 9 baking dish; spread half the cottage cheese mixture. Add the meat sauce.

    6. Layer the rest of the noodles - then suddenly realize that you forgot the layer of mozarella. Tear off the layer of noodles and scrape the meat sauce off.

    7. Add mozarella; put the meat sauce back on; add the noodles back on.

    8. Repeat - but this time remember it is noodles, cottage cheese mixture, MOZARELLA, meat sauce.

    9. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

    10. Bake at 375 degrees about 30 minutes (if assembled earlier and refrigerated, then bake 45 minutes).

    Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Serves 8 to 10.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: I assure you that if you skip steps 6 and 7 that it will not taste as good. I ALWAYS do it this way. :O
