Recipe Introduction
This recipe never fails.
List of Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 and 1/2 sugar
- 6 ounces undiluted evaporated milk
- 1/2 stick margarine
- 12 ounce package chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon real vanilla
Instructions
- Place marshmallows, milk, sugar and margarine in a heavy 3 quart saucepan.
- Bring to boil over medium heat.
- Stir constantly for 5-6 minutes.Turn off heat.
- Add chocolate chips and vanilla and beat until chips are melted and mixture begins to hold shape.
- Pour and spread quickly into a well buttered 9x9" pan.
- Allow to cool completely and cut into squares. Store in a covered container in a cool place.
Final Comments
12 ounces of peanut butter chips may be substituted for chocolate chips for peanut butter fudge. Substitute 12 ounces of white chips and add 1/2 cup of dried cherries and 1/2 cup of nuts for cherry nut fudge. A few drops of peppermint oil may be added to chocolate for chocolate-mint fudge.
