    Comfort Cake

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 ( 18 1/2 ounce) package yellow cake mix
    • 1 ( 3 3/4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
    • 4 eggs
    • 1/2 cup cold water
    • 1/2 cup oil
    • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
    • 1/2 cup Southern Comfort
    • Glaze:
    • 1/8 pound butter or margarine
    • 1/8 cup water
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup Southern Comfort


    Instructions


    1. Combine cake ingredients in large bowl. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube or 12 cup bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Set on rack to cool. Invert on serving plate.

    2. Prick top immediately; drizzle and brush glaze over top and sides. Reserve half of glaze. After cake has cooled, reheat glaze and brush it evenly over cake.

    3. Just before serving, sift 1 tablespoon powdered sugar over cake.

    4. To make glaze, melt butter in saucepan. Stir in water and sugar. Boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in Southern Comfort.
