    Mom's Mexican Green Sauce


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pound tomatillos, husked and rinsed
    • 3 cloves garlic
    • 1 large jalapeno, or to taste
    • 1 ripe avocado, peeled and seeded
    • 3/4 cup loosely packed cilantro
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice


    Instructions


    1. In a medium saucepan, cover tomatillos, jalapeno, and garlic cloves with water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Drain and cool. Place the cooled ingredients and the remaining ingredients in a blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Cover and chill until ready to serve.
