Broiled Flank Steak with Spicy Orange-Chipotle Marinade

- 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
- 1/3 cup fresh orange juice
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 3 chipotle peppers in adobo, minced
- 1 teaspoon adobo sauce from can
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 pounds flank steak
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, stir together orange zest, orange juice, ketchup, chipotles, adobo sauce, olive oil, allspice, and salt.
- Place flank steak in shallow bowl, pour marinade over, and toss to coat. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or up to overnight.
- Preheat broiler. Place steak on broiler pan and broil 5 inches from the heat for 10 minutes. Brush with any remaining marinade and broil another 5 minutes, or until medium-rare. Place on a carving board and let rest 15 minutes before slicing.
