    Simple Cheese Orzo

    • 1/2 pound orzo (1 1/3 cups)
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
    • ground black pepper


    Instructions


    1. Bring 1 quart (exactly) of water to a boil in a large saucepan. Add the salt and the orzo. Boil until orzo is tender and has absorbed the cooking liquid, 8 to 9 minutes. Stir in the oil, Parmesan, and pepper to taste.
