    Ham Steak with Corn Salsa

    List of Ingredients


    • Corn Salsa:
    • 1 teaspoon olive oil
    • 4 ears fresh corn, kernels cut off the cob
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup chopped onion
    • 1/4 cup chopped celery
    • 1/4 cup chopped tomato
    • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
    • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
    • 2 teaspoons finely chopped jalapeno chile
    • Ham:
    • 2 teaspoons olive oil
    • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
    • 1 bone-in (1 lb.) reduced-sodium ham steak
    • Fresh cilantro sprigs, for garnish


    Instructions


    1. Make Corn Salsa: Heat a large nonstick skillet over high heat 2 minutes. Add oil and corn. Cook corn stirring, just until it begins to brown. Stir in salt.Transfer to medium bowl; stir in remaining ingredients.

    2. Combine oil and cumin in cup; rub over both sides of ham steak. Heat same skillet over medium-high heat 2 minutes. Cook steak until browned, about 3 minutes per side. Cut into serving pieces. Serve with salsa and garnish with cilantro sprigs, if desired. Makes 4 servings.
