    Country Kitchen Peas

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 (1 pound) can tiny French peas
    • 1 (3 ounce) can water chestnuts, sliced
    • 1 tablespoon oil
    • 1 tablespoon flour
    • 2 cups lettuce, shreded
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
    • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley


    Instructions


    1. Drain peas and reserve liquid.
    2. Heat oil in medium saucepan, add flour, mix well to make a smooth sauce. Add 1/3 cup bean liquid. Add lettuce and cook 2 minutes or until lettuce wilts.
    3. Add peas, water chestnuts and seasonings. Heat throughly, about 5 minutes, covered. Sprinkle with parsley.
