    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup water
    • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, undrained
    • 1 dried ancho chile (about 1 ounce), seeded
    • 1/2 teaspoon margarine or butter
    • Cooking spray
    • 2/3 cup chopped onion
    • 1 garlic clove, minced
    • 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions


    Instructions


    1. Combine the first 6 ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes. Discard ancho.
    2. Melt margarine in a nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté 5 minutes or until onion begins to brown. Add onion mixture to bean mixture. Stir in green onions.

    3. 2 cups (serving size: 1/2 cup)
