Spicy Black Beans

List of Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, undrained
- 1 dried ancho chile (about 1 ounce), seeded
- 1/2 teaspoon margarine or butter
- Cooking spray
- 2/3 cup chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions
Instructions
- Combine the first 6 ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes. Discard ancho.
- Melt margarine in a nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté 5 minutes or until onion begins to brown. Add onion mixture to bean mixture. Stir in green onions.
