List of Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper (powder)
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cloves garlic -- crushed
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 15 oz chickpeas -- drained and rinsed
- 7 ounces tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Heat oil in medium saucepan. Add onions and bell pepper and saute until soft. Add spices (red pepper thru grated ginger)adjusting for taste. Stir in chick peas and tomato sauce and cook over medium-low heat until warmed through. Top with cilantro and serve over basmati rice or with pitas.
