    Yogurt Biscuits

    Source of Recipe

    Weight Watchers

    Recipe Introduction

    Makes 16 @ 1 Point each
*These biscuits make a good base for fruit shortcake or a crust for chicken pot pie. They also freeze very well.

    List of Ingredients

    2 cups flour
    1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
    1 tsp sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt

    Recipe

Combine 1 cup flour in a large bowl with the yogurt. Blend until smooth. Sprinkle with the sugar. Cover loosely with plastic wrap or a damp towel and let stand in a warm, draft-free place at least 4 hrs. or overnight.
Preheat oven to 425 deg. In a medium bowl, combine the remaining 1 cup of flour, the baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir into yogurt mixture.
Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Lightly sprinkle a work sufrace with flour. Turn out the dough and pat into an 8x6 rectangle. Cut into 16 pieces and place the biscuits 1" apart on the baking sheet. Bake 10 min at 425 deg, then reduce oven temperature to 400 deg and bake until golden brown, about 10 min. longer. Serve hot.
