    Sweet & Spicy Party Meatballs

    List of Ingredients




    Cooking spray
    1 large onion, minced
    2 poundslean ground beef
    1/2 cup wheat germ
    3/4 cup dried bread crumbs
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
    2 tsps. seasoned salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    4-ounce can diced chiles
    20-ounce can pineapple chunks, in natural juice
    2 tsp. cornstarch
    8-ounce jar of apple jelly

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 350*.
    Spray skillet with cooking spray.
    Add onions and saute until tender.

    In a large bowl, combine the meat, wheat germ, bread crumbs, eggs, spices and chiles.
    Add the cooked onions.

    Shape into 1-inch balls and place on jelly roll pan(s) to bake.

    After 15 minutes, take pans out of the oven and drain the grease.
    Return the pans to oven for 15 minutes more.

    Drain and reserve 1/2 cup juice from pineapple.
    In a cup, stir reserved juice with cornstarch until smooth.
    Mix with jelly.

    In a skillet, over meduim heat. melt jelly mixture.
    Gradually stir in pineapple chunks, heat through.

    Place meatballs in a chafing dish and pour pineapple sauce over them.

    Makes 3-4 dozen appetizers
