    Eggless Cake

    List of Ingredients




    2 cups sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 teaspoon cinnamon and nutmeg
    1 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup shortening
    1 cup sour milk or buttermilk
    1 cup raisins
    1 tsp. vanilla

    Recipe



    Sift and measure flour; add soda, salt and spices.

    Cream sugar and shortening; sift in flour, one-third at a time, alternating with milk.

    Add raisins. mix in last mixture of flour.

    Add vanilla.
    Beat well after each addition.

    Pour into 13x9x9 inch square pan.

    Bake at 350* for 30 to 40 minutes or until tester comes out clean.

    yields: 9-12 servings


    Note: Bake at 325* if using glass baking dish
