CANDY COOKIES
Recipe Introduction
MMMMM ! Cookies and candy together-what could be better-or more fattening?! This is a favorite all year round. But for holidays, I use the special packages of candy pieces that aro color coordinated with the season. I also double the recipe without doubling the amount of candy and it still turns out great. A good money stretcher too. About 3 dozen cookies.
List of Ingredients
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup margarine or butter, softened
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 package ( 8 ounces ) chocolate-coated candies
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugars, margarine, shortening, vanilla and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Centers will be soft. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet.
Final Comments
These cookies really look nice on a pretty serving plate or a season or occasion themed tray or plate.
