Garlic Chive Bread
List of Ingredients
(for bread machine, makes a 1 1/2 lb loaf)
5 cloves of garlic (minced)
1 Tb butter or margarine
1 1/4 cup milk (warm in microwave)
1 tsp salt
1 TB sugar
3 cups bread flour
2 TB fresh chopped chives (can substitute dried)
1/3 cup grated or shredded parmesean cheese
2 1/2 tsp bread machine yeast
Saute the minced garlic in butter or margarine over medium heat for about 30 seconds. Allow to cool. Add sauted garlic and other ingredients to machine in order required by your machine's manufacturer. Bake on the white bread setting. After bread kneads for about 5 minutes check to see if it is moist enough or too dry; add water or flour 1 tbs at a time until dough starts to form a nice ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan. This dough also makes great rolls or bread sticks (use manual setting), shape dough, allow to rise about 1 hour and bake at 400 to 425 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.
