    Almond Joy Chocolate Pie

    Serves 8


    Almond Joy Crust:
    20 almond joy candy bar miniatures, or 10 almond joy snack size
    3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
    Filling:
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/3 cup cornstarch
    1/4 cup hershey's cocoa
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 1/2 cup milk
    1 tsp vanilla
    16 almond joy candy bar miniatures, or
    8 almond joy snack size, cut in 1/2", pieces, candy will cut easier if placed in freezer 15 min, before cutting
    Sweetened whipped cream, or whipped topping (optional)

    1. Prepare Almond Joy Crust.(recipe below)
    2. In medium saucepan, stir together sugar, starch, cocoa and salt; blend in milk.
    3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with wire whisk, till mix boils; boil & stir 1 min (Mix will be very thick.)
    4. Remove from heat; blend in vanilla.
    5. Add candy pieces; stir till melted.
    6. Pour into prepared crust; press plastic wrap onto surface.
    7. Refrigerate; top with sweetened whipped cream, if desired.

    Almond Joy Crust:
    1. Preheat to 325F.
    2. Lightly butter 9" pie plate.
    3. Place ingredients in food processor.
    4. Process till mix is thoroughly blended.
    5. Press onto bottom and top sides of prepared pie plate.
    6. Bake 10 min.
    7. Cool on rack. Cool completely.
