    Brickle Crunch

    List of Ingredients












    35 saltine crackers(1 "sleeve")

    1 cup butter or margarine (2 sticks; see note)

    1 cup granulated sugar or firmly packed brown sugar

    2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (one 12-ounce bag)



    Recipe




    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use foil to line a jellyroll pan or a cookie sheet with sides. Spread saltines over foil in a single layer.

    In a heavy saucepan, melt butter with sugar over medium-high heat. Raise heat to high. Boil 3 minutes; immediately pour evenly over saltines.

    Bake 10 minutes, checking often to prevent burning. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle on chips. When soft, smooth evenly over crackers with a spatula. Chill at least 30 minutes. Peel off foil and break into pieces.
    Makes about 3 dozen pieces
    Note: Use real butter or stick margarine
