    Even if it's the dead of winter, you can still have the fruit taste of summer in the form of a healthy snack. Any frozen or canned fruit juices can be used to make these always popular candies, and if desired, honey can be substituted for the sugar, to make them sugar-free.

    List of Ingredients










    INGREDIENTS
    1/4 c. plus 2 tsp. corn starch
    1/2 c. sugar or 2 T. honey (optional)
    1 1/3 c. fruit juice
    1 T. bottled lemon juice

    Mix sugar and corn starch together in a medium sized saucepan. If sugar is omitted, mix corn starch with a small amount of cold fruit juice. Add fruit juice to corn starch mixture along with honey, (if being used). Cook using medium heat until mixture thickens and comes to a boil, stirring constantly. Add lemon juice. Boil one minute. Let mixture cool and then spoon into cake decorator cones. Drop fruit-gel onto plastic covered dehydrator trays or cookie sheets if using an oven, lightly sprayed with non-sticking cooking spray. Dry drops in food dehydrator at 135 F. until firm (usually 3 hrs. at least) or in a 200 F. oven with the door propped oven with a pot holder for a similar amount of time. Try making star, worm shapes, etc.
