1 cup sugar
1 cup Wesson Oil
1 cup cane syrup
3 eggs
1 tsp. each cinnamon, ginger, cloves
2 tsps. baking soda
1/8 cup warm water
2 cups flour
1 cup boiling water
Dissolve baking soda in warm water. Mix all ingredients in the order given, then add boiling water. Batter will be thin. Bake in greased and floured pan for about 40 minutes in a 350-degree oven (or until done when tested with a toothpick). Can use a cookie sheet with sides.
