1 pkg. (19.76 ozs.) bratwurst links
1 lb. ground chuck
1/3 cup red onion, finely chopped
1/3 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. garlic, minced 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/2 Tbsp. minced jalapeno peppers, optional
Remove bratwurst from casing and place in a large mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly by hand. Form each burger with about 1/2 cup of the mixture and grill until cooked through and no longer pink. Serve on hamburger-style rolls. Yield: 10 brat burgers.
