    Texas Pot Roast






    4-5 lb beef pot roast
    1 t chili powder
    2 t salt
    2 med. onions
    3 cups beef bouillon
    2 T flour
    water
    1 T paprika
    3 T shortening
    1 cinnamon stick

    Combine the flour, chili powder, paprika, and salt
    Pour the mixture over the pot roast
    Place the pot roast in a pan with the shortening
    Brown the roast and pour off the drippings
    Place onions, bouillon, and cinnamon stick with roast
    Add water until the roast is 1/2 covered
    Cover the pan
    Cook in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 2/12 to 3 hours or until the meat is tender
    Remove and discard onions and cinnamon


    Tips:

    Serve with potatoes and carrots
