Recipe to use the jar mix follows (attach it to jar to give as gift)


List of Ingredients




Makes just over 3 cups

1 c flour
2 c yellow cornmeal
1/3 c sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

layer in a pint size canning jar.


COWBOY CORNBREAD

1 jar Cornbread Mix
1 Egg
1 c Milk
1/3 c melted butter

Preheat to 400. Blend mix in a large bowl. Mix egg, milk, and butter and add to dry mixture. Stir only until moistened. Pour into greased loaf pan or muffin tin and bake 20-25 minutes. Serve hot with butter.

Hint:

For jar decoration: Fold a 10" square red bandanna in half to form a triangle, tie around neck of jar.

Print recipe on card. Laminate. Accent with stenciled cowboy themed designs.

Use a old fashioned canning jar with glass lid and wire clamp.
