    Pesto Sauce

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 bunch fresh basil
    • 1 bunch fresh parsley
    • 2 cloves garlic
    • 1/4 C pine nuts
    • 1/4 C parmesan cheese
    • 1/2 - 3/4 C extra virgin olive oil


    Instructions


    1. Rinse basil and parsley. Pat dry. Remove and discard stems.

    2. In a blender, combine basil, parsley and garlic. Pulse blender until ingredients are chopped, stopping when necessary to scrape down sides.

    3. Add pine nuts and continue to pulse until ingredients are chopped.

    4. Add 1/4 cup of olive oil in a small stream with blender on puree, stopping to scrape down sides.

    5. With blender on puree, add parmesan cheese, alternating with olive oil, until desired consistency is reached. Add more olive oil as needed.

    6. Use to top pasta, pizza, or as a dip. Store unused portion in airtight container for up to 5 days. Bring to room temperature before using. If sauce thickens, add a little olive oil and stir before using.
