- 24 LARGE SHRIMPS, PEELED AND DEVEINED
- 24 WHOLE CANNED WATER CHESTNUTS, DRAINED
- 12 BACON SLICES CUT IN HALF
- 6 TABLESPOONS SWEET BUTTER
- **************CREAMY HORSERADISH SAUCE**************
- 8 OUNCE PACKAGE OF SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE
- 1/2 CUP MAYONNAISE
- 1/2 CUP SOUR CREAM
- 3 TABLESPOONS PREPARED HORSERADISH
- 1 TABLESPOON FRESH LEMON JUICE
- HOT PEPPER SAUCE (TOBASCO)
- WHITE PEPPER
Instructions
- WRAP 1 SHRIMP AROUND 1 WHOLE CHESTNUT. WRAP IN 1 PIECE OF BACON AND SECURE WITH A TOOTHPICK. REPEAT WITH REMAINING SHRIMPS, CHESTNUTS AND BACON.
- MELT 3 TABLESPOONS BUTTER IN A LARGE SKILLET OVER HIGH HEAT. ADD HALF OF THE SHRIMPS AND COOK UNTIL BACON BROWNS, ABOUT 2 1/2 MINUTES PER SIDE. TRANSFER TO LARGE CASSEROLE DISH. REPEAT WITH REMAINING BUTTER AND SHRIMPS.
- PREHEAT BROILER.
- BEAT CREAM CHEESE IN A MEDIUM BOWL UNTIL SMOOTH. ADD REMAINING INGREDIENTS AND BEAT UNTIL BLENDED AND SMOOTH. SEASON WITH SALT.
- SPOON SAUCE OVER SHRIMPS AND BROIL UNTIL TOP IS GOLDEN BROWN. DIVIDE SHRIMP AMONG PLATES AND SERVE.
