    I MAKE CROSTINI ALL THE TIME FOR A SNACK OR FOR ENTERTAINING. THEY ARE EASY AND VERY QUICK TO PUT TOGETHER. I FOUND THIS RECIPE ON ONE OF THE SITES WHICH I BELONG TO. I HAVE ALSO SUBSTITUTED FRESH GARLIC AND ITALIAN DRY DRESSING FOR THE GARLIC/HERB CREAM CHEESE SPREAD. IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD WITH WONDERFUL FLAVORS TO TEMP THE TASTE BUDS.


    List of Ingredients


    • 20 ( 1/2" ) THICK SLICES FRESH FRENCH BREAD
    • 1 TABLESPOON OLIVE OIL, OR OLIVE OIL SPRAY
    • 1/2 CUP GARLIC & HERB CREAM CHEESE SPREAD
    • 1/4 CUP CHOPPED GREN ONIONS


    Instructions


    1. LIGHTLY SPRAY OR BRUSH BREAD SLICES ON BOTH SIDES AND PLACE ON AN UNGREASED COOKIE SHEET. BROIL UNTIL LIGHTLY GOLDEN BROWN, TURN OVER AND CONTINUE TO BROWN OTHER SIDE.
    2. IN A BOWL, COMBINE REMAINING INGREDIENTS AND BLEND WELL.
    3. SPREAD ON TOASTED BREAD SLICES AND RETURN TO OVEN AND BROIL UNTIL CHEESE BUBBLES.

    TO MAKE FROM SCRATCH GARLIC/HERB CREAM CHEESE SPREAD DO THE FOLLOWING: CHOP FINELY GARLIC, ( HOW MANY DEPENDS ON YOUR LOVE FOR GARLIC)1 TO 2 TEASPOONS OF ITALIAN DRY DRESSING, ( AGAIN THIS IS TO YOUR TASTE, START WITH 1 TSPN AND THEN TASTE)MIX IN WITH 4 OUNCES OF SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE, 1 TEASPOON MAYONNAISE AND SCALLIONS MIXING WELL TO COMBINE. EXPERIMENT WITH THE INGREDIENT AMOUNTS.
