- 8 LARGE PORTABELLA MUSHROOMS, STEMS AND BROWN GILLS REMOVED
- OLIVE OIL
- 3 ( 10 OUNCE) SWEET ITALIAN SAUSAGE, REMOVED FROM CASING
- DRIED RED PEPPER, CRUSHED
- 1 CUP MARINARA SAUCE
- 1 CUP GRATED MOZARELLA CHEESE
- 8 FRESH BASIL LEAVES
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
- BRUSH MUSHROOMS WITH OIL, ARRANGE MUSHROOMS TOP SIDE DOWN ON BAKING SHEET. BAKE UNTIL ALMOST TENDER, ABOUT 8 TO 10 MINUTES. REMOVE FROM OVEN AND SET ASIDE. DO NOT TURN OFF OVEN.
- SAUTE SAUSAGE IN SKILLET OVER MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL BROWNED AND COOKED THROUGH BREAKING UP THE SAUSAGE. REMOVE SAUSAGE FROM SKILLET.
- DIVIDE SAUSAGE AMOUNG MUSHROOM CAPS. TOP ECH WITH CRUSHED RED PEPPER, 2 TABLESPOONS MARANARA SAUCE AND 2 TABLESPOONS MOZZARELLA CHEESE.
- PLACE STUFFED MUSHROOMS BAKE IN OVEN AND BAKE UNTIL HEATED THROUGH, APPROXIMATELY 10 TO 12 MINUTES. TOP EACH WITH A BASIL LEAF.
