    List of Ingredients


    • 2 CUPS FLOUR
    • 1/4 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
    • 1/4 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER
    • 1/4 TEASPOON SALT
    • 3 EGGS
    • 2/3 CUPS SUGAR
    • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
    • 3/4 TEASPOON ALMOND EXTRACT
    • GRATED ORANGE ZEST
    • 1 CUP TOASTED WHOLE ALMONDS


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°. LINE A BAKING SHEET WITH PARACHMENT PAPER AND SET ASIDE.
    2. IN A SIFTER, COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, BAKING SODA AND SALT IN A BOWL.
    3. IN A SMALL BOWL, COMBINE EGGS, SUGAR, VANILLA, ALMOND EXTRACT AND ORANGE ZEST..
    4. SLOWLY POUR LIQUID INTO DRY MIXTURE AND MIX UNTIL COMBINED ( IF NECESSARY ADD A BIT MORE FLOUR TO MAKE A WORKABLE DOUGH). ADD NUTS AND WORK IN WELL.
    5. PLACE DOUGH ONTO A LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE AND DIVIDE IN HALF WITH FLOURED HANDS.
    6. ROLL EACH PIECE INTO A LOG ABOUT 2" WIDE AND 12" LONG.
    7. TRANSFER TO BAKING SHET. BAKE IN CENTER OF OVEN AND BAKE UNTIL DOUGH HAS RISEN SLIGHTLY AND TURNS LIGHTLY BROWN, 25 TO 30 MINUTES. REMOVE AND COOL 10 MINUTES.
    8. REMOVE DOUGH TO A CUTTING BOARD AND SLICE AT A DIAGONAL ABOUT A 1/2" THICK. STAND UPRIGHT ON BAKING SHEET 1/2" APART AND RETURN TO OVEN AND BAKE UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN, 15 MINUTES. REMOVE AND COOL. STORE IN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER.
    9. 4 DOZEN
