    CAROLE'S BUTTER STICKS


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 CUPS SELF RISING FLOUR
    • 2 TABLESPOONS SUGAR
    • 3/4 CUPS MILK
    • 1 STICK SWEET BUTTER
    • SESAME OR POPPY SEEDS


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 425°.
    2. MELT BUTTER IN A 7 X 11" BAKING PAN.
    3. MIX FLOUR, SUGAR AND MILK, KEEPING THE DOUGH AS SOFT AS POSSIBLE. LET DOUGH REST 1 MINUTE AND THEN KNEAD GENTLY ON A FLOURED CLOTH. ROLL DOUGH TO SIZE OF PAN AND CUT LENGTHWISE IN THE CENTER OF DOUGH. CUT THE DOUGH CROSSWISE AT 3/4" INTERVALS WITH A SHARP, FLOURED KNIFE TO MAKE STICKS, APPROXIMATELY 3/4" X 3 1/2". ROLL IN MELTED BUTTER COMPLETELY COATING STICKS.
    4. SPRINKLE WITH SESAME OR POPPY SEEDS ON TOP AND BAKE 12 TO 15 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. ALLOW TO SIT UNTIL EXCESS BUTTER IS ABSORBED ABOUT 1 TO 2 MINUTES. SERVE WHILE HOT.
