    ZIPPY FRENCH BREAD

    THIS RECIPE COMES FROM A SUBSCRIPTION THAT I HAVE TO TOH"S QUICK COOKING, JULY/AUGUST, 2000 ISSUE.


    List of Ingredients


    • 6 OUNCES CREAM CHEESE, SOFTENED
    • 1/4 CUP SOFTENED BUTTER
    • 2 TABLESPOONS MINCED FRESH CHIVES
    • 2 TO 4 TEASPOONS PREPARED HORSERADISH
    • 1 LOAF ( 1 LB ) FRENCH BREAD


    Instructions


    1. IN A SMALL MIXING BOWL, BEAT THE CREAM CHEESE, BUTTER, CHIVES AND HORSERADISH UNTIL WELL COMBINED. CUT THE BREAD INTO 1" THICK SLICES TO WITHIN 1/2" OF THE BOTTOM.
    2. SPREAD CREAM CHEESE MIXTURE BETWEEN SLICES. WRAP THE LOAF IN A LARGE PIECE OF HEAVY DUTY FOIL. BAKE IN A PREHEATED 400° OVEN FOR 14 TO 17 MINUTES OR UNTIL HEATED THROUGH.
