    THIS IS DELICIOUS FOR BREAKFAST OR FOR A SUNDAY BRUNCH.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 LOAF OF FRENCH BREAD, CUT INTO 1" SLICES
    • 21 OUNCE CAN APPLE PIE FILLING
    • 8 LARGE EGGS
    • 2 CUPS MILK
    • 2 CUPS HALF AND HALF
    • 2 TEASPOONS VANILLA EXTRACT
    • 1/2 TEASPOON NUTMEG
    • 1/2 TEASPOON CINNAMON
    • TOPPING:
    • 1/2 CUP SOFTENED BUTTER
    • 1 CUP BROWN PACKED SUGAR
    • 2 TABLESPOONS DARK CORN SYRUP OR MAPLE SYRUP
    • 1 CUP COARSELY CHOPPED NUTS


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°. GREASE A 9 X 13" BAKING PAN .
    2. PLACE ONE LAYER OF SLICED BREAD IN PAN. SPREAD PIE FILLING OVER BREAD. PLACE ANOTHER LAYER OF BREAD ON TOP. SET ASIDE.
    3. IN A MEDIUM BOWL, BLEND EGGS, MILK, 1/2 AND 1/2, VANILLA AND SPICES. POUR MIXTURE OVER BREAD MIXTURE AND REFRIGERATE COVERED OVER NIGHT.
    4. JUST BEFORE YOU BAKE IT OFF, COMBINE THE TOPPING MIXTURE AND SPREAD OVER TOP.
    5. BAKE FOR APPROXIMATELY 50 MINUTES OR UNTIL PUFFED AND GOLDEN.
