    List of Ingredients


    • 2 EGGS
    • 1 CUP SUGAR
    • 1 CUP MILK
    • 5 TABLESPOONS MELTED SHORTENING
    • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
    • 4 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR, SIFT FIRST THEN MEASURE
    • 4 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
    • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
    • 1/2 CUP MELTED BUTTER
    • CINNAMON SUGAR:
    • 1 CUP SUGAR
    • 1 TEASPOON CINNAMON


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 450°.SPRAY BAKING SHEET WITH A VEGETABLE COOKING SPRAY.
    2. IN A LARGE BOWL, BEAT THE EGGS UNTIL FOAMY WITH AN ELECTRIC MIXER. GRADUALLY ADD SUGAR, BEATING CONSTANTLY.
    3. STIR IN MILK, SHORTENING AND VANILLA.
    4. SIFT TOGETHER THE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT.
    5. ADD TO LIQUID MIXTURE, BEATING WELL.
    6. COVER AND CHILL DOUGH FOR 30 MINUTES OR UP TO 1 HOUR FOR EASIER HANDLING.
    7. ROLL AND PAT DOUGH ON A LIGHTLY FLOURED BOARD TO 1/2" THICKNESS.
    8. CUT WITH A DOUGHNUT CUTTER. PLACE THE DOUGHNUTS AND HOLES ON PREPARED BAKING SHEET ABOUT 1" APART.
    9. BAKE 10 TO 15 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN.
    10. BRUSH EACH DOUGHNUT AND HOLE WITH MELTED BUTTER AND ROLL IN CINNAMON SUGAR.
    11. CINNAMON SUGAR: IN A SMALL BOWL, COMBINE SUGAR AND CINNAMON BLENDING WELL.
