CINNAMON ROLLS USING CAKE MIX
List of Ingredients
- 1 BOX YELLOW CAKE MIX
- 5 CUPS FLOUR
- 2 PACKAGES YEAST
- 1/2 CUP WARM WATER ( 110° TO 120°)
- 2 CUPS WARM WATER
- 1/4 CUP SOFT BUTTER
- 1/2 CUP SUGAR
- 2 TEASPOONS CINNAMON
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 375°.
- IN A LARGE MIXING BOWL, COMBINE CAKE MIX AND 3 CUPS FLOUR.
- IN A MEDIUM BOWL, SOFTEN YEAST IN 1/2 CUP WARM WATER. ADD TO FLOUR MIXTURE AND STIR IN 2 CUPS WARM WATER. ADD FLOUR AS NEEDED TO MAKE DOUGH WORKABLE.
- PLACE BOWL IN A WARM PLACE AND COVER AND ALLOW TO RISE FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR OR UNTIL DOUBLED IN SIZE.
- DIVIDE IN HALF AND ROLL INTO A RECTANGLE ABOUT 1/2" THICK. COVER WITH BUTTER, CINNAMON AND SUGAR. ROLL INTO A LOG AND STARTING FROM THE LONG SIDE, CUT OFF 1/2" THICK SLICES. PLACE ON A COOKIE SHEET WITH SIDES TOUCHING. REPEAT WITH REMAINING DOUGH.
- COVER ROLLS AND LET RISE UNTIL DOUBLED IN SIZE. BAKE FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES.
- THESE ROLLS FREEZE WELL. IF YOU LIKE YOU CAN ADD NUTS OR RAISINS WHEN PUTTING ON THE BUTTER, CINNAMON AND SUGAR.
