SWEET CREAM BISCUITS
List of Ingredients
- 1 3/4 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR, SIFT BEFORE MEASURING
- 1 TABLESLPOON SUGAR
- 1 TABLESPOON BAKING POWDER
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 6 TABLESPOONS SWEET COLD BUTTER CUT INTO SMALL PIECES
- 3/4 CUP COLD WHIPPING CREAM
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 450°.
- SIFT THE FLOUR WITH THE SUGAR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT INTO A LARGE BOWL.
- USING A PASTRY BLENDER OR YOUR FINGERTIPS, CUT IN BUTTER UNTIL MIXTURE RESEMBLES COARSE CRUMBS. ADD THE COLD CREAM TO DRY INGREDIENTS AND STIR JUST UNTIL COMBINED, "DO NOT OVERMIX".
- TURN DOUGH OUT ONTO A LIGHTLY FLOURED WORK SURFACE AND KNEAD JUST UNTIL DOUGH FORMS.
- PAT OUT DOUGH TO 1/4 OR 1/2" THICKNESS. CUT OUT CIRCLES USING A FLOURED CUTTER.
- GATHER SCRAPS AND REPEAT THE PROCESS UNTIL ALL DOUGH IS USED.
- TRANSFER THE BISCUITS TO AN UNGREASED BAKING SHEET AND BAKE FOR 10 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN.
