    MUSHROOMS AND ONIONS ARE SUCH A GREAT COMBINATION.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 TO 3 LARGE ONIONS, SLICED
    • 2 LBS OF MUSHROOMS CHOPPED IN QUARTERS IF LARGE
    • 1/4 TO 1/2CUP BUTTER
    • 1/4 TO 1/3 CUP FLOUR
    • 1/2 TEASPOON MARJORAM, THIS IS OPTIONAL
    • 2 CAN OF BEEF BROTH OR BEEF CONSOMME
    • 2 TABLESPOONS SHERRY


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
    2. IN A LARGE FRYING PAN, SAUTE MUSHROOMS, ONIONS AND BUTTER UNTIL MUSHROOMS LOOK ALMOST COOKED BUT STILL JUICY. STIR IN FLOUR AND COOK FOR 1 MINUTE, ADD MARJORAM, CONSOMME OR BROTH AND SHERRY. COOK UNTIL LIQUIDS THICKEN 3 TO 4 MINUTES APPROXIMATELY.
    3. TRANSFER TO A CASSEROLE DISH AND BAKE FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES.


    Final Comments


    YOU CAN ADD MORE OR LESS OF MUSHROOMS, ONIONS AND LIQUIDS DEPENDING ON YOUR TASTE. SERVE THIS WONDERFUL CASSEROLE WITH ROAST BEEF OR ANYKIND OF STEAKS.
