PRINCETON CHOCO DECADENCE CHEESECAKE

THIS IS A RECIPE WHICH I HAD MADE BACK IN 1994. IT IS A RICH AND VERY CREAMY MELT IN YOUR MOUTH CHEESECAKE. SERVE SMALL PIECES. BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE AND ORANGE LIQUEUR MAKES THIS SUPER WONDERFUL FLAVORFUL CHEESECAKE THE BEST YOU HAVE EVER TASTED. I MAKE IT FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS.
List of Ingredients
- 1 1/2 CUPS CHOCOLATE CAKE CRUMBS
- 12 OUNCE SOFT CREAM CHEESE
- 2 CUPS SUGAR
- 1 1/2 TEASPOONS VANILLA
- 6 OUNCES UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE OR BITTER SWEET CHOCOLATE
- 1 EGG
- 1 CUP SOUR CREAM
- 6 TABLESPOONS ORANGE LIQUEUR
Instructions
- GREASE A 9" SPRINGFORM PAN.
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
- EVENLY DISTRIBUTE CHOCOLATE CAKE CRUMBS OVER BOTTOM OF PAN, PRESSING LIGHTLY.
- IN A MIXER BOWL BEAT CREAM CHEESE, SUGAR AND VANILLA UNTIL FLUFFY AND SMOOTH. SET ASIDE.
- IN A SMALL HEAVY SAUCEPAN MELT THE CHOCOLATE OVER LOW HEAT, STIRRING CONSTANTLY. POUR MELTED CHOCOLATE ALL AT ONCE INTO CREAM CHEESE MIXTURE AND BEAT UNTIL COMBINED. ADD EGGS AND BEAT UNTIL VERY SMOOTH, 5 MINUTES. ADD SOUR CREAM AND ORANGE LIQUEUR AND MIX UNTIL TOTALLY COMBINED.
- POUR BATTER OVER CRUST AND BAKE FOR 25 TO 30 MINUTES OR JUST TILL SET.
- REFRIGERATE CHEESECAKE OVERNIGHT BEFORE SERVING.
- GARNISH TOP WITH WHIPPED SWEET CREAM AND TWISTED SLICES OF ORANGES.
