SOFT OATMEAL COOKIES

- 1/2 CUP SOFTENED BUTTER
- 1 CUP SUGAR
- 2 EGGS
- 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
- 1 1/2 CUPS OATMEAL, NOT INSTANT
- 1 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1/2 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
- 1/2 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 1 TEASPOON CINNAMON
- 1/2 TEASPOON ALL SPICE
- 1/4 CUP MILK
- 1 CUP RAISINS
- 1 CUP CHOPPED NUTS, OPTIONAL
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°. GREASE COOKIE SHEETS AND SET ASDIE.
- BEAT BUTTER AND SUGAR IN A MIXER BOWL UNTIL THOROUGHLY BLENDED, ADD THE EGGS AND VANILLA AND BEAT UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY. STIR IN OATMEAL.
- STIR TOGETHER THE FLOUR, BAKING SODA, BAKING POWDER, SALT, CINNAMON AND ALLSPICE ADD TO THE BUTTER MIXTURE ALONG WITH THE MILK. BEAT UNTIL COMPLETELY MIXED, STIR IN RAISINS AND NUTS IF USING.
- DROP DOUGH BY ROUNDED TEASPOONFULS ONTO PREPARED COOKIE SHEETS, SPACING THEM 2" APART.
- BAKE FOR 12 MINUTES OR UNTIL EDGES ARE BROWN. REMOVE FROM OVEN AND COOL ON A WIRE RACK.
