SOFT SUGAR COOKIES
I LOVE THESE SOFT SUGAR COOKIES, THEY ARE DELICIOUS AND REMIND ME OF A TEA COOKIE MY MOTHER ALWAYS MADE.
List of Ingredients
- 4 CUPS FLOUR
- 1 1/2 CUPS VEGETABLE OIL
- 2 EGGS
- 1 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
- 1 CUP BUTTERMILK
- 3/4 TEASPOON VANILLA
- 1 1/2 CUPS SUGAR
- 1 TEASPOON TEASPOON BAKING POWDER
- 3/4 TEASPOON SALT
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
- IN A MIXING BOWL ADD VEGETABLE OIL, SUGAR AND EGGS. MIX UNTIL INCORPORATED.
- IN ANOTHER BOWL, COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING SODA, BAKING POWDER, BUTTERMILK, SALT AND VANILLA. POUR THE VEGETABLE, SUGAR, EGG MIXTURE AND MIX WELL.
- PLACE TEASPOONFULL AMOUNTS OF COOKIE BATTER ONTO A COOKIE SHEET, LEAVING PLENTY OF SPACE BETWEEN. BAKE 8 TO 10 MINUTES.
- REMOVE FROM OVEN AND LET COOL FOR 5 MINUTES. REMOVE TO A WIRE RACK AND ALLOW TO COOL COMPLETELY.
Final Comments
THESE COOKIES PUFF UP WHILE BAKING. I HAVE SANDWICHED THESE COOKIES WITH APRICOT FRUIT SPREAD OR CURRANT JELLY TO GIVE THEM A WONDERFUL FLAVOR. EITHER WAY YOU MAKE THEM, YOU WILL BE VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS AND TASTE.
