CHOCOLATE CHIFFON PIE
List of Ingredients
- 2 ( 1 OUNCE EACH ) SQUARES UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE, CHOPPEDD
- 1 ( 14 OUNCE CAN ) EAGLE BRAND SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK
- 1 ENVELOPE UNFLAVORED GELATIN
- 1/3 CUP WATER
- 1/2 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
- 1 CUP ( 1/2 PINT ) WHIPPING CREAM, WHIPPED
- 1 ( 6 OUNCE ) GRAHAM CRACKER CRUMB PIE CRUST OR CHOCOLATE PIE CRUST
- ADDITIONAL WHIPPED CREAM FOR GARNISHING
Instructions
- IN A HEAVY SAUCEPAN OVER LOW HEAT, MELT CHOCOLATE WITH CONDENSED MILK. REMOVE FROM HEAT. SET ASIDE.
- IN ANOTHER SMALL SAUCEPAN, SPRINKLE GELATIN OVER WATER AND LET STAND 1 MINUTE. COOK OVER LOW HEAT, STIRRING UNTIL GELATIN DISSOLVES.
- STIR GELATIN MIXTURE INTO CHOCOLATE MIXTURE, ADD VANILLA. COOL TO ROOM TEMPERATURE. FOLD IN WHIPPED CREAM. SPREAD INTO PIE CRUST.
- CHILL 3 HOURS OR UNTIL SET IN THE REFRIGERATOR. WHEN READY TO SERVE GARNISH WITH ADDITIONAL WHIPPED CREAM.
- STORE ANY LEFTOVERS COVERED IN REFRIGERATOR.
