    CHOCOLATE CHIFFON PIE


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 ( 1 OUNCE EACH ) SQUARES UNSWEETENED CHOCOLATE, CHOPPEDD
    • 1 ( 14 OUNCE CAN ) EAGLE BRAND SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK
    • 1 ENVELOPE UNFLAVORED GELATIN
    • 1/3 CUP WATER
    • 1/2 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
    • 1 CUP ( 1/2 PINT ) WHIPPING CREAM, WHIPPED
    • 1 ( 6 OUNCE ) GRAHAM CRACKER CRUMB PIE CRUST OR CHOCOLATE PIE CRUST
    • ADDITIONAL WHIPPED CREAM FOR GARNISHING


    Instructions


    1. IN A HEAVY SAUCEPAN OVER LOW HEAT, MELT CHOCOLATE WITH CONDENSED MILK. REMOVE FROM HEAT. SET ASIDE.

    2. IN ANOTHER SMALL SAUCEPAN, SPRINKLE GELATIN OVER WATER AND LET STAND 1 MINUTE. COOK OVER LOW HEAT, STIRRING UNTIL GELATIN DISSOLVES.

    3. STIR GELATIN MIXTURE INTO CHOCOLATE MIXTURE, ADD VANILLA. COOL TO ROOM TEMPERATURE. FOLD IN WHIPPED CREAM. SPREAD INTO PIE CRUST.

    4. CHILL 3 HOURS OR UNTIL SET IN THE REFRIGERATOR. WHEN READY TO SERVE GARNISH WITH ADDITIONAL WHIPPED CREAM.

    5. STORE ANY LEFTOVERS COVERED IN REFRIGERATOR.
