- 4 OUNCE SERVING SIZE JELLO ORANGE FLAVOR GELATIN
- 3/4 CUPS BOILING WATER
- 2 CUPS SKIM MILK
- 6 OUNCE CAN FROZEN APPLE JUICE CONCENTRATE, THAWAED
- 1 CUP THAWAED COOL WHIP TOPPING
- 11 OUNCE CAN MANDARIN ORANGE SEGMENTS, DRAINED WEL
Instructions
- COMPLETELY DISSOLVE GELATIN IN BOILING WATER. STIR IN MILK AND APPLE JUICE. ( THIS MIXTURE WILL APPEAR CURDLED BUT WILL SMOOTH OUT WHEN FROZEN).
- POUR INTO A 13 X 9" BAKING PAN. FREEZE UNTIL ABOUT 1" OF ICY CRYSTALS FORMS AROUND EDGES, ABOUT 1 HOUR. SPOON MIXTURE INTO CHILLED BOWL, BEAT WITH ELECTRIC MIXER UNTIL SMOOTH. GENTLY STIR IN WHIPPED TOPPING.
- SPOON A SCANT 2/3 CUP MIXTURE INTO 8 CUSTARD CUPS. FREEZE ABOUT 6 HOURS OR OVERNIGHT.
- TO SERVE: RESERVE 8 ORANGE SEGMENTS FOR GARNISH.
PROCESS REMAINING ORANGES IN BLENDER OR FOOD PROCESSOR UNTIL SMOOTH. REMOVE CUSTARD CUPS FROM FREEZER, LET STAND 15 MINUTES. RUN KNIFE AROUND EDGES OF CUPS, INVERT ONTO DESSERT PLATES AND UNMOLD. GARNISH EACH DESSERT WITH ABOUT 1 TABLESPOON OF PUREED ORANGES, 1 ORANGE SEGMENT. STORE ANY LEFTOVERS COVERED IN FREEZER.
