    SAUTEED APPLES WITH CRISP TOPPING


    List of Ingredients


    • 3 APPLES, GOLDEN DELICIOUS OR FUJI
    • 2 TABLESPOONS BUTTER
    • 2 TABLESPOONS BROWN SUGAR
    • 2 TEASPOONS CINNAMON
    • ******************************************************************************
    • TOPPING:
    • 1 CUP FLOUR
    • 1/2 CUP OATS
    • 1/4 CUP SUGAR
    • 1/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR
    • 1/4 CUP SOFTENED BUTTER
    • ICE CREAM OR CREME FRAICHE


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
    2. PEEL APPLES AND CUT THEM INTO QUARTERS. CUT EACH QUARTER INTO THREE PIECES.
    3. HEAT A SAUTE PAN AND MELT THE BUTTER. ADD THE APPLES AND COOK UNTIL THEY ARE LIGHTLY GOLDEN AND TENDER. SPRINKLE THE BROWN SUGAR AND THE 1 TEASPOON OF CINNAMON OVER THEM, MIXING WELL.
    4. SPREAD APPLES IN A 6" BAKING DISH. SET ASIDE.
    5. COMBINE IN A BOWL ALL OF THE TOPPING INGREDIENTS WITH BUTTER, WITH YOUR HANDS, CRUMBLE THE MIXTURE INTO SMALL PEA SIZE PIECES. LIGHTLY SPRINKLE ON TOP OF APPLES AND BAKE FOR 20 MINUTES OR UNTIL THE TOPPING IS GOLDEN BROWN. SERVE WARM WITH CREME FRAICHE OR ICE CREAM.
