    List of Ingredients


    • 16 PIECES VANILLA CARMELS
    • 1/4 CUP WATER
    • 3 TABLESPOONS SWEET BUTTER
    • DASH OF SALT
    • 2 CUPS SIFTED CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR


    Instructions


    1. COMBINE THE CARMELS AND WATER IN A 1 1/2 QUART SAUCEPAN. MELT OVER LOW HEAT, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY. COOL TO ROOM TEMPERATURE.
    2. CREAM THE BUTTER AND ADD THE SALT. ADD CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR ALTERNATELY WITH THE CARMEL SAUCE, BLENDING TILL FROSTING IS SMOOTH AND CREAMY. CHILL TILL OF SPREADING CONSISTENCY, 30 MINUTES.
    3. FROSTS ONE 9" SQUARE CAKE OR 1 DOZEN CUPCAKES
    4. YOU CAN ADD 2 TABLESPOONS CHOPPED PECANS OR WALNUTS.
