    List of Ingredients


    • 1 CUP GRATED CARROTS
    • 1 CUP RAISINS
    • 3/4 CUP HONEY
    • 1 TEASPOON CINNAMON
    • 1 TEASPOON ALLSPICE
    • 1 TEASPOON SALT
    • 1/2 TEASPOON NUTMEG
    • 1/4 TEASPOON GROUND CLOVES
    • 2 TABLESLPOONS BUTTER OR MARGARINE
    • 1 1/2 CUPS WATER
    • 1 1/2 CUPS WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR
    • 1 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
    • 1/2 CUP WHEAT GERMS
    • 1/2 CUP CHOPPED NUTS


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 300°. GREASE TWO LOAF PANS ( 6" X 3 1/4") SET ASIDE.
    2. COOK CARROTS, RAISINS, HONEY SPICES AND MARGARINE IN THE WATER FOR 10 MINUTES AND COOL.
    3. MIX TOGETHER THE FLOUR, SODA, WHEAT GERM AND WALNUTS AND COMBINE WITH THE CARROT MIXTURE. MIXING WELL.
    4. POUR INTO PREPARED LOAF PANS AND BAKE FOR 45 MINUTES. COOL IN PANS FOR 5 MINUTES. REMOVE TO A WIRE RACK AND COOL COMPLETELY.
    5. 2 LOAVES
