    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
    • 3/4 CUPS CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR
    • 1/4 TEASPOON SALT


    Instructions


    1. COMBINE ALL OF THE INGREDIENTS, BLENDING WELL. POUR INTO AN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER OR A JAR.
    2. GIFT TAG:

      SCOTTISH SHORTBREAD
      16 COOKIES


      1 CUP BUTTER SOFTENED
      SHORTBREAD MIX


      PREHEAT THE OVEN TO 300°. KNEAD THE BUTTER INTO THE SHORTBREAD MIX OR IN A FOOD PROCESSOR AND PRESS THE MIXTURE FIRMLY INTO AN 8 OR 9" CAKE PAN OR SHORTBREAD MOLD. BAKE FOR 1 HOUR. THE SHORTBREAD SHOULD BE PALE IN COLOR, NOT BROWNED. CUT INTO WEDGES WHILE STILL WARM. YOU CAN ALSO MAKE 1" BALLS AND PLACE ON A COOKIE SHEET.
