    List of Ingredients


    • 10 SLICES BREAD
    • 1/2 CUP MELTED BUTTER


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 300°.
    2. TRIM CRUSTS FROM BREAD, AND CUT SLICES INTO 1/2" CUBES. SPREAD CUBES IN A 10 X 15" JELLY ROLL PAN. DRIZZLE WITH BUTTER OVER CUBES, TOSS TO COAT
    3. BAKE FOR 30 TO 35 MINUTES OR UNTIL DRY, CRISP AND GOLDEN BROWN, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY. STORE COVERED IN REFRIGERATOR.
    4. 4 CUPS
    5. VARIATIONS:

      HERB CROUTONS: ADD 2 TEASPOONS BASIL LEAVES, FINELY CRUSHED TO BUTTER.

      GARLIC CROUTONS: ADD 2 GARLIC CLOVES, CRUSHED OR 1/4 TESPOON GARLIC POWDER TO BUTTER.
