- 10 SLICES BREAD
- 1/2 CUP MELTED BUTTER
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 300°.
- TRIM CRUSTS FROM BREAD, AND CUT SLICES INTO 1/2" CUBES. SPREAD CUBES IN A 10 X 15" JELLY ROLL PAN. DRIZZLE WITH BUTTER OVER CUBES, TOSS TO COAT
- BAKE FOR 30 TO 35 MINUTES OR UNTIL DRY, CRISP AND GOLDEN BROWN, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY. STORE COVERED IN REFRIGERATOR.

- VARIATIONS:
HERB CROUTONS: ADD 2 TEASPOONS BASIL LEAVES, FINELY CRUSHED TO BUTTER.
GARLIC CROUTONS: ADD 2 GARLIC CLOVES, CRUSHED OR 1/4 TESPOON GARLIC POWDER TO BUTTER.
