CARMEL APPLE CINNAMON MUFFINS

- 3 TABLESPOONS BUTTER
- 2/3 CUP BROWN SUGAR, PACKED
- 2 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR, MEASURE AFTER SIFTING
- 3 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 1 TEASPOON CINNAMON
- 1 EGG
- 1 CUP MILK
- 2 TABLESPOONS MELTED SHORTENING
- 1 CUP CHOPPED GRANNY SMITH APPLES
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 400°.GREASE MUFFIN PANS AND PLACE 1/2 TEASPOON OF BUTTER AND 1 TEASPOON BROWN SUGAR IN EACH CUP. SET ASIDE.
- SIFT FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, SALT AND CINNAMON TOGETHER IN A BOWL.
- BEAT EGG ADD MILK, SHORTENING AND REMAINING 1/2 CUP BROWN SUGAR. ADD TO SIFTED DRY INGREDIENTS, STIRRING ONLY UNTIL DRY INGREDIENTS ARE MOISTENED, FOLD IN APPLES.
- FILL PREPARED MUFFIN PANS 3/4 FULL AND BAKE FOR 20 MINUTES.
