    List of Ingredients


    • 7 OUNCES ELBOW MACARONI COOKED AL DENTE AND DRAINED
    • 1/4 CUP BUTTER
    • 3 TABLESPOONS FLOUR
    • 2 CUPS MILK
    • 8 OUNCE PACKAGE SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE
    • 1/2 TEASPOON EACH SALT AND PEPPER
    • 2 TEASPOONS DIJON MUSTARD
    • 2 CUPS SHREDDED WHITE OR YELLOW CHEDDAR CHEESE
    • TOPPING:
    • 1 CUP DRY BREAD CRUMBS
    • 2 TABLESPOONS BUTTER
    • 2 TABLESPOONS CHOPPED FRESH PARSELY
    • IN A SMALL BOWL, MIX TOGETHER THE TOPPING INGREDIENTS MIXING WELL TO COMBINE.


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 400°.
    2. IN A 3 QUART SAUCEPAN OVER MEDIUM HEAT, MELT BUTTER AND STIR IN FLOUR. COOK FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE OR UNTIL MIXTURE IS SMOOTH AND BUBBLY, STIRRING OCCASIONALLY.
    3. ADD MILK, CREAM CHEESE, SALT, PEPPER AND MUSTARD. CONTINUE COOKING UNTIL SAUCE IS THICKENED. ADD COOKED MACARONI AND CHEESE, MIXING TO COMBINE.
    4. POUR INTO A 2 QUART CASSEROLE DISH. SPRINKLE PREPARED TOPPING OVER MACARONI AND CHEESE AND BAKE FOR 15 TO 20 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN AND HEATED THROUGH.
